Experience

Hello, my name is Maxim, I am the founder of Glory Estate. I have been working in this field for more than 3 years, and every year I summarize my work, so I want to share my experience with you.

One year as a real estate agent

I don’t know why, but I’ve been interested in real estate and everything related to it since I was 16. Later, I firmly decided that I wanted to try my hand at it.

I can say that this work is not suitable for everyone. If you don’t love it, you won’t last long. It’s a real-life school. In the beginning, it’s not so sweet when you don’t have a job and no clients, and you want to earn money. I had to combine two jobs at once to get by.

A lot of nerves, a lot of deals broken, you need to learn a lot, and the stress associated with phone calls (which you have to make every day to look for clients, and even not in their native language). But in the end, I am still afloat, and I have never regretted working in this field.

I still have a lot to learn, but here are the main things I learned in a year:

🤝You can talk to almost anyone.

Working in this field, you constantly encounter non-standard situations where you have to make sure that each party is satisfied. Definitely – it comes with experience and no matter how difficult the situation is, you can always find a solution.

💪 You have to be persistent.

I often make deals with people who initially were not interested in my service or have a negative attitude towards realtors in general. I have to explain to the client what his/her benefits are and look after his/her interests first.

✍️Calendar and checklist work

When you have a busy schedule and need to manage both work and rest, and not forget about some important meeting, you MUST write everything down on a calendar. If you have a plan in front of you, you can work much more effectively. Without a checklist, efficiency drops by half. This is why it is important to make a daily plan of action to follow.

🧑💻Systematicity that pays off in the long run.

Like in every profession, there is a routine that needs to be done. It’s boring at times, but it produces very good results, which I’ve managed to undo in the last six months.

😊A job well done is a client who will come back to you, or better yet, who will recommend you as a professional in your business. I think it’s pretty clear.

2 years in real estate

A year ago I wrote a post about my experience in this field. I still hold the opinion that if you don’t like it, you won’t last long, even if you are very talented ❗️

Our coach once said that 1 year in real estate counts for 3 compared to many other fields.

And I agree with him, you have to constantly learn here, the competition is very high and you have to try very hard to stand out.

So, I want to share with you my experience of the last year:

👯The team.

Having a good team is very important because, thanks to the cohesion and the distribution of responsibilities, you can work much more efficiently. If you have strong players on your team, you can close deals faster and learn from each other by exchanging experiences.

🏃♂️Real estate is a cross, not a sprint.

Sure, some people can have good results right away, but that’s more the exception than the norm. It takes a long time to gain experience and loyal clients who will recommend you to their friends.

After a while, you gain confidence and you can make decisions in a crisis situation with a cool head. That’s why if you go into this field, set yourself up for the long haul.

🤯 Don’t do everything.

Learn to calculate your strengths and abilities so that you can serve your clients well because, in the long run, it will pay off for you. It is better to serve one person well than 10 bad.

That’s why it’s better, to tell the truth, to refuse the client, or pass it on to a colleague, so you don’t screw up and screw yourself, your clients, and your agency because you don’t have time😉

🐜 Give it your all.

You always have to keep your hand on the pulse, because if you don’t work for 1%, you’ll blow the deal you’ve been working for a week, a month, or even half a year to finish.

Quality is better than quantity.

Don’t chase quantity, chase quality. Yes, sometimes it’s hard, but after a while, you’ll have lots of clients.
